It's Time to Level Up!

Updated: Jul 6, 2019

If you've been in the salon in the last few weeks, you may know that I have been very busy! Not just behind the chair, and not just with family obligations (although there's been plenty of those too!) but I have been very busy with an Online Salon Business course AND a little Rachel Hollis business coaching AND I am definitely leveling up my hairstylist skills with the kick start of my promotion to Paul Mitchell National Educator! WOW! This is EXCITING!

New Logo?

As for the business coaching, Mrs. Rachel Hollis, NY Times best-selling author of "Girl, Wash Your Face!" and "Girl, Stop Apologizing!" goes LIVE in our coaching group and we've been learning all about Goal Setting, Customer Service, Email Marketing, and more to come! I've said it for years, that in Beauty School, they may teach you to cut hair and apply color when you're in Cosmetology School, but that's where your education ends! This format is bridging the gap between my artistic styling skills to analytical business strategies!

And because I can't just do one thing at a time, I am taking another online course that is specific to the beauty industry! It is INTENSE! Every week there is a new challenge and so many ways to bring a better salon experience to my guests! Right now, I am even creating a new website! Step One: CREATE A NEW LOGO! Are any of those above standing out to you?? Stay tuned to my blog for the official launch date!

At my Paul Mitchell National Educator Audition

In March 2019, I auditioned and was selected to be a Paul Mitchell National Educator!

No, that doesn't mean I am leaving the salon! It means that I will be taking my love for Paul Mitchell on the road to teach Continuing Education classes for other Stylists! Last year I was feeling pretty monotone with my life. My kids are growing up (that's my daughter, Emma, 21, in the photo to the right) and last September I thought it was time to add a new challenge to my life.

Well, God certainly listened to that request, and now I have MANY new challenges to face, one more exciting than the next! But, I'll go into those details in a future blog post. For now, I'll take things day by day, and try to utilize all the new skills and concepts I'm learning through my training.

I hope you enjoyed my first blog post, and that you'll go out and look for your own adventures, step out of your comfort zone and challenge yourself to learn something new!
